New Chilean Research Vessel

The Chilean Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture 30.8 metre inshore oceanographic and fisheries research vessel, DRA Barbieri, has been launched at ASENAV shipyard in Chile. The vessel design was undertaken by IMC Naval Architects in Fremantle in conjunction with NavalPRO in Chile. Congratulations to ASENAV and NavalPRO in bringing this project to fruition.

Bridgewater Barges Installed

McConnell Dowell Constructors have installed the 12 IMC-designed barges end-to-end across the River Derwent at Bridgewater, in Hobart. The barges are to be used in the construction of a new bridge across the river. Mobile cranes of up to 600 tonnes capacity will be used to drive bridge piles from the barges.
