The IMC-designed MinRes Odin (ex Mermaid Sound) is presently being modified to operate as a pusher tug for the first of the Minerals Resources iron ore transhipment barges. This included significant structural modifications to fit the Articouple system to the vessel. IMC undertook detailed FE analysis during the design process for these modifications.
The first of five 123.8-metre long iron ore transhipment barges that IMC Naval Architects have designed for Mineral Resources Limited has been launched at the COSCO shipyard in Zhoushan, China. The barges will operate as part of the Onslow Iron Project in northern Western Australia.

The first six barges for long-term client McConnell Dowell Constructors are loaded on to the heavy lift vessel, Happy Sky, for the voyage from Batam to Hobart. The 12 IMC Naval Architects designed barges (43.5m and 55.5m long) will be used to construct the new Bridgewater bridge in Hobart.

The 30-metre trap fishing vessel ‘King Sound’ departs Fremantle to head north to the Kimberley to commence working out of Broome. The vessel was built in Vietnam to an IMC Naval architects design. On site supervision during construction was also carried out by IMC.
